Hey Lykkers! 👋
Ever felt that itch to start something real while still juggling classes and assignments?
Yup, I totally get you. I started my own business when I was in university, and no— it wasn't perfect, but it changed my life. So let me spill what really worked (and what didn't!) 🚀
Why I Even Started
It all began with a simple idea in class: “What if this small thing I'm good at could actually help people and make money?”
For me, it was designing logos. I was doing it for friends for free, until one day a local brand offered to pay me. That was my lightbulb moment 💡
I didn't have a full plan, but I had motivation—and that was enough to start.
Use What You Already Have
The truth is, you don't need an office, a huge budget, or a full team.
Here's what helped me in the beginning:
📱 Free online tools (Canva, Trello)
📚 Campus resources (some professors actually gave great advice!)
👯 Friends who believed in me—my first clients and biggest support
I used my dorm room as my office and social media as my shop window. Simple, but effective.
Start Tiny, Learn Fast
My biggest mistake? Trying to make everything perfect before launching.
What I should've done (and eventually did):
✅ Offer a mini version of my service
✅ Collect real feedback
✅ Improve bit by bit
The more I acted, the more I learned. Trust me, done is better than perfect!
Don't Wait for Confidence
People think you need to feel ready before you start. Nope. I was nervous 24/7.
But I still showed up. I pitched ideas. I made mistakes. I even embarrassed myself.
But every “fail” taught me something I couldn't learn from a textbook.
Courage grows from action—not the other way around 💪
Make Time, Not Excuses
Yes, it's hard to juggle uni and a business. I had to cut back on binge-watching shows and late-night scrolls.
But I made a deal with myself: one hour a day. That's all.
One hour turned into five clients. Five clients turned into a real business.
Start small, stay consistent—that's the real magic ✨
Fast Forward: It's So Worth It
Today, that little project pays my bills. I've worked with clients from other countries, built a small team, and learned more than any business class ever taught me.
Was it easy? Nope. But it was 100% worth it.
So, Lykkers 💬
